Parade draws thousands to the “diamond”

BD - paradeThe 47th annual Diamond Valley parade is celebrating the theme “Small Town – Big Dreams” to inspire the community to embrace its potential on June 4.

The parade features a variety of floats from across the foothills.

Participating communities include Black Diamond, Turner Valley, Longview, High River, Okotoks and Calgary, including an entry by the Calgary Stampede.

In addition to floats, horseback riders and an array of vehicles, the parade will showcase several different marching bands.

More than 4,000 people line the streets of Black Diamond for this hour and a half event.

The parade begins just before 10 a.m. and weaves throughout various streets throughout town. including Highway 7.

Spectators can enjoy a pancake breakfast in front of Oilfields Regional Arena on 3rd Street SE.
