New market offers a taste of the town

Get a taste for what the Foothills has to offer when it comes to local foods and crafts at Black Diamond’s new Makers & Growers Market Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As many as 20 vegetable producers, ranchers, crafters and artisans will showcase local goods at this old-style market where every vendor has to grow or make his or her own food, crafts or art.

Items for sale will include locally-grown vegetables, a variety of meats, baking, pottery, candles, soap and art.

Demonstrations of painting, blacksmithing and clay throwing will be featured at the market and local musicians will be on site to do some busking.

The Makers & Growers Market is located in the parking lot of The Westwood by Treeline Outdoors at 115 Government Road every Sunday from June 4 to Oct. 1.

Wrapping up the season on October 1 will be the annual Garlic Festival featuring everything garlic from food to art.
