If you haven’t heard of the Millarville Farmer’s Market then grab a friend and head west, where you find droves of people enjoying the great outdoors and amazing produce, home-made foods, artwork, clothing and so many other unique products.
The market is a weekend destination for many in the Foothills and Calgary and is not to be missed. The market first began with five vendors and has grown to about 150 on any given day.
It has become Alberta’s largest farmers’ market and aside from products, offers things like food ambassador classes such as cheese making and cooking with honey. If you are looking for a food to the plate experience, gluten-free foods and other specialty items the Millarville Market is sure to satisfy.
The market’s slogan is “Celebrate knowing your farmer, your baker and your candlestick maker.”
The Millarville Farmers’ Market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The season starts June 17 and runs until Oct. 7. Admission is $3 per car.

The market opens for 2017 with the annual Run to the Millarville Farmers’ Market Half Marathon on June 17. The 21.1-kilometre run starts in Black Diamond at the Oilfields Arena and continue to the golf course, along the Friendship Trail and through the back road to the Millarville Race Track.
