Festival is child’s play

The parade is just the start of a great day of activities for families at the Spirit of Okotoks Weekend.

The Children’s Festival, formerly the Okotoks Youth Festival, will follow this year’s Spirit of Okotoks Parade on Saturday, June 17 to conclude a full day of family activities.  Saturday promises an afternoon packed with live performances and hands-on art activities for all ages. The festivities will go from 12-3 p.m. at Ethel Tucker Centennial Park. This year, Juno award winning entertainer Norman Foote will charm us with his music and comedy, and then Diana David will mesmerize you with her dance moves and stage presence.  Also featured are a host of different crafts, face painting, games, clowns and a range of other family friendly events for all to enjoy.

Of course, bounce castles will also be there to let kids burn off some energy. The free festival is held in the beautiful setting of Ethel Tucker Centennial Park, located on Riverside Drive right next to the Okotoks library, and runs from noon to 3 p.m. Please note: no dogs or pets will be permitted into the Children’s Festival, for the safety and enjoyment of all participants.  The Children’s Festival is sponsored by the Okotoks Arts Council.
