It may have a new name, but the venue is a long time favourite venue for the local music and theatre scene. Formerly known as the Rotary Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) the Old Church Theatre has steadily become a vibrant centre for all kinds of performing arts and entertainment events.
The theatre on Elma Street in Okotoks has played host to many a music concert and live theatre production. The more than century old structure, served as a church until the early 2000s.
The Old Church hosts Room Full of Sound, a popular concert series featuring nationally acclaimed musicians. The theatre is also host to a variety of events from classical performances by members of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, to stand-up comedy and a film series featuring some of the best films to hit the silver screen.
The theatre is also the home for Okotoks theatre group Dewdney Players, which will host its production of The Curious Savage, opening on May 8 and closing on May 23.
