Nestled along Highway 2 at the base of the foothills is one of Southern Alberta’s best kept secrets. If you like to golf, you have to check out the 18-hole Bridges at Claresholm Golf Course.
With four tee boxes to choose from, this course offers playability to golfers of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned players. Distances range from RED tees at 5,566 yards to the TIPS at 6,869 yards. There is also a full-service driving range 300 yards long for golfers to practise and work on their swings.
Lessons offered in packages or individually by Lyle Broderson, the club’s full-time golf pro/manager. The friendly staff welcomes visitors and during the week golfers can usually be guaranteed space on the course without too much delay. However, it’s always a good idea to phone in advance for tee times, especially on weekends and holidays.
While at the clubhouse, golfers can check out the pro shop on the ground floor. The knowledgeable staff can tell you all about tournaments and discuss your requirements for group or company events. The shop is fully stocked with brand name clubs, balls, and clothing. It also rents out power carts.
After a round of golf, people can unwind at Putters, the restaurant upstairs. They can enjoy some good food in the fully-licensed establishment, while they take in spectacular views of the foothills from the patio.
