Champion: A village with plenty to offer

The peaceful Village of Champion, which offers a variety of amenities, is 12 minutes south of Vulcan on Highway 23, and centrally located between the popular Little Bow Provincial Park (12 minutes to the east) and Twin Valley Dam Campground (10 minutes to the west).

Numerous services and amenities are located within the village. The Champion Community Park offers campsites serviced with water, electricity and firepits, as well as washrooms/showers, a camp kitchen, horseshoe pits, and a playground and picnic area. Bordering the Champion public school (K-9) you will find a track and sports field, baseball diamonds, playground, and an outdoor swimming pool, with several events being held at the pool throughout the swimming season. A roping and riding arena can be found on the south end of the village. Take a stroll around the Village and relax in the park situated directly west of the Community Hall where visitors frequent to take photos.

Legacy Corner, across the street from the Village administration office, features a gazebo with historic displays and picnic tables for your enjoyment. The west end of main street features a one-of-a-kind historic display of grain elevators and a coal car. Heading east along main street you will find the Pioneer Club Drop-in Centre, the local post office, library, fire hall, Village office, convenience/grocery store, and ATB bank. And, while you’re in the area, stop by the Champion Inn, where you’ll find quality Chinese and Western cuisine.

Make Champion one of your stop-overs, and take a historic walking tour of our unique village.
